Although this is not a fix for the erasing disks sort of thing, OpenVMS
employs a HighWater and erase-on-allocate (RE
http://pupgg.princeton.edu/cdrom12/html/ssb71/6346/6346p016.htm Section
8.9.5.2 for a fuller description)
Is this possable or practical in a unic type OS? (I havn't seen it anywhere
yet but somebody following this thread may have)
We used to dismantle the RA81 drives and make nice art with the disks (or a
side table, what ever takes your fancy) the only sure way to delete data
permanently.
